It's that season....the cough, the sneezes and sniffles...bleh. My Aunt introduced a yummy little remedy that includes steaming an orange with some sea salt (has to be sea salt or natural rock salt and not the chemically produced table salt stuff.)
Sea salt (about a teaspoon? Sprinkle on top of the cut surface. Steam the orange with the "cap" on top then eat everything inside, including the pith.)
Orange
I found it really soothes the throat...and each time I had it, it seemed to cause the phlegm in my lungs to loosen a bit more. This results in a coughing fit until I can cough it up but certainly I feel WAY better after I do. I'm sure the extra vitamin C can't hurt either.
For anyone who's sick...get well soon!

Ooh, I will have to give this a try when I get sick (hopefully, not any time soon).
